Electronics Engineering Entrepreneurship in Nepal
by Mithlesh Mishra
Here, I will start off by saying that entrepreneurship is a process, organization, innovation, filed & an industry of designing, launching and running a business. Entrepreneurship is an art, an understanding of how to make money, it needs to be learned, not taught. It is an art, not a science. Entrepreneurship is the act of being an entrepreneur, just as an intern engages in an internship. College is an investment. An investment in yourself. An investment in a network; a community. If you invest wisely, it will pay dividends your whole life. We are undergoing Engineers, we sharp our intelligence at colleges, it’s task of colleges & universities to core our intelligence ability and they would do it. But as we may know that’s not enough for an entrepreneur to be intelligent only, we need to polish many other skills. Colleges doing their work, now its our turn to convert that intelligence into execution. Build, create, innovate something don’t let it to waste somewhere else’s company. Promote our intelligence to another level, make something out of it so that people would love to buy our intelligence.
In the context of Nepal, there are a lot of startups, mainly product based ones, working in this domain. For entrepreneurship in the field of electronics, presently the market for wearables, specially in the medical domain, is the big thing here. The future of Electronics Engineering’s in helping people directly with their medical and cognitive problems. Apart from this, there is the internet of things(IOT) which has been termed as the next big thing, and every major multinational company is working towards it. Some of the IOT Projects are Smart Grids,Prepaid electricity like mobile recharge(almost a reality now),Switching devices with voices for guidance, Speech&&image recognition, wireless transmissions, Distributed generation (like distribution in transmission),Bulk energy storage capacities, Lightning harness for utilities, Electrical simulation in neural networks of living organism.
All these are high end electronics, communication & Information technologies in development stage and more likely to be in reality in the immediate future. On the same way, there are lots of potential applications for lasers, which have not yet been developed or exploited. Many needs in instrumentation, measuring, and tools – even though some have begun showing up in the market.Similarly,The explosion in ultra-thin laptops and tablets, smart phones, pads and pods, cameras and video devices, and the like shows that there is an enormous market for new and better (lighter, faster, more versatile) devices of those types. Alternative energy is a red-hot field these days. There is still lots of potential to develop better and cheaper wind and solar generators. And associated controls, distribution equipment, Plus, plenty of opportunity to develop alternative power sources for battery-powered devices, from cell phones to chain saws.
Not so easy, maybe, in major electric machinery such as generators, large motors, transformers, and switchgear – because that is heavy industry, a very capital intensive field. Still, contrary to that Elon Musk has made himself a multibillionaire by figuring out how to make an electric-motorpowered car to be a practical and effective competitor in the market for personal.
There is a similar, probably larger, explosion in developing apps for devices. Uber is up in the billions now, because they developed an app (actually series of apps) that let people call for a taxi from their smart phones. And there are a slew of companies which allow you to pay for purchases using a smart phone app. That also has the advantage of being a low cost-of-ho business.
Take a look around us .Nearly everything can be improved, even obsoleted, with electrical and electronics technology. And people are doing it almost every day, many founding billion-dollar companies in the process. Look at Facebook and Twitter, for instance; and the myriad other social and networking and information sites that have sprung up, and which continue to emerge.
So from here’s we see, know & think They are the greatest domain for a startup & renowned our name as an Entrepreneur in Nepal too. We engineers are born entrepreneur just need to polish ourselves! No shortage of entrepreneurial opportunities, if we are skilled in electronics and data processing technology. We know many dropouts who made their ventures in college days and now leading and ruling world by their creations. Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates etc. are some of the world famous Entrepreneurs.
As a leader or an entrepreneur, it is important to have a good analytical knowledge about the business and the project that we are heading.Through the program, one can learn to take evaluative decisions that are beneficial for the company. Make your own and be your own . Be gritty. Be resilient. Be tenacious. Fight On!
